Welcome Reader!
Seeing as I haven’t shared any sort of in-depth description of my life on the internet in several years, you probably don’t know much about me. Let’s change that.
To catch you up to speed, I recently moved back to my home state of Florida. I was living in the Bay Area since 2015. I would love to tell you that the reason why I originally moved across the country was because I had won the lottery and could afford to buy a mansion on the Pacific coast. But, the real reason why I moved was to get away from everything I had grown too comfortable with. I wanted a little adventure, and California offered that for me.
I lived in Oakland for several years. Half of those years were spent living with my dog in a 400 square foot studio. Life was definitely more interesting. I would ride my bike every morning to catch the train into the city for work. I experienced things that only a city like San Francisco could offer.
On a holiday visit back in Florida, I was blessed to be reacquainted with my gorgeous fiancee. Before we were engaged, she would visit me in California, and we eventually moved into a much larger apartment together in Oakland. We shared lots of adventures driving up and down the California coast, trying different cuisines, getting lost in local record stores, and hiking at some of the most breath-taking parks this country has to offer.
We eventually moved to a great coastal town called Pacifica. Then the pandemic hit. I lost my job, and both of our lives were shaken up. There was a silver lining, though. The pandemic opened up a great opportunity for me to work as the E-Commerce Manager at a local surfing institution called Traveler Surf Club. I’m an avid surfer, and everyone from around the area knows Traveler Surf Club is one of the best surf companies around.
The job allowed my creativity to shine, and I was able to provide the brand with several pieces of marketable content, which you can find here. My fiancee and I eventually came to the decision that we wanted to be closer to family. So, after six years of living in California, we decided to make the move back to Florida.
It’s been about two weeks since we arrived, and we’re still getting reacquainted with the area. We’re both very excited to be closer to family, and looking forward to what’s in store for us next!
Here are some photos from our journey back to the Sunshine State.
